Frequently Asked
Questions claimants actually ask
If you don't see your question here, use the contact form and we'll get back to you directly.
Is Recoup a law firm?
No. Recoup is an intake and litigation-funding platform. We document your case and organize claimants, but legal services connected to a claim are provided by independent, affiliated counsel, not by Recoup directly.
Am I guaranteed to get my money back?
No, and we won't tell you otherwise. Recovery depends on whether responsible parties can be identified, whether they have recoverable assets, and the outcome of legal proceedings, which can take a long time and are never certain. Your contribution funds the cost of investigation and litigation. It does not buy a promised outcome.
What happens if I contribute and the case doesn't recover anything?
Contributions fund real work (forensic investigation, legal filings, and case management) regardless of outcome. This is standard for litigation funding generally: the fund pays for the attempt, not a guaranteed result. We disclose this plainly before you contribute.
How is the success fee different between tiers?
Every tier is eligible for the same underlying legal process. Higher tiers buy faster case handling, a dedicated case manager, and deeper forensic investigation, plus a lower success fee if the case results in a recovery (25% for Recovery Basic, down to 10–15% negotiable for Recovery Partner). Higher tiers never buy a bigger promised payout.
What if my case is assessed as 'Needs More Evidence'?
You can still join as a claimant. The assessment is a live read of your case, not a final gate. You can add wallet verification, evidence, or suspected parties at any point from your dashboard, and the assessment recalculates automatically.
What currencies can I contribute in?
Contributions are accepted in BTC and USDT (TRC20 or ERC20). After choosing a tier, you'll get a deposit address and can submit your transaction hash for confirmation.
Is my personal information safe?
Your account is protected behind authentication, and case data is only ever visible to you and the Recoup team working your case. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and how it's used.
Can I join more than one case?
Yes. If you were affected by more than one project, you can start a separate case for each from your dashboard.
What if the project I'm reporting isn't listed anywhere yet?
That's fine. Most claims start that way. You provide the coin name, contract address, and chain directly; our team cross-references it with other claimants who may have been affected by the same project.
